Systems biology approaches ME/CFS as a network of interacting components rather than linear causal chains. The seven-biomarker panel (AMP, cDC1, LYVE1, IGHG2, FN1, VWF, THBS1) achieving 91% diagnostic accuracy demonstrates that ME/CFS pathophysiology spans metabolic, immune, and vascular systems simultaneously. Network analysis suggests these biomarkers represent nodes in a dysregulated network rather than independent markers.
Therapeutic implication: Single-target interventions have limited efficacy in complex network diseases. Multi-target approaches (CoQ10 + LDN, mitochondrial support + immune modulation, autonomic support + anti-inflammatory) may achieve better outcomes by simultaneously addressing multiple network nodes.
