Verdicts

What IVP diagnoses about the architectural styles and design sets below: where the domain’s change-driver structure mandates a boundary, and where the style invents one instead. Each row states the diagnosis and links the page that argues it.

1 Architectural styles

Style Verdict
Hexagonal (ports and adapters) A chosen encoding, not a domain-mandated decomposition: the ports and adapters are invented wherever they do not coincide with the partition. Its core-is-independent claim is false for the persisted entity.
Onion A chosen encoding, not a domain-mandated decomposition: the rings are invented wherever they do not coincide with the partition. Its “domain model coupled only to itself” claim is false for the persisted entity.
Clean A chosen encoding, not a domain-mandated decomposition: the rings are invented wherever they do not coincide with the partition. Its stability ordering is structural self-containment, not real stability.
Layered A chosen encoding, not a domain-mandated decomposition: the layers are invented wherever they do not coincide with the partition. Its replaceability claim is false for the business rule.
Vertical slice A chosen encoding over a domain-near axis, not a domain-mandated decomposition: the slices are invented wherever they do not coincide with the partition. Its independence claim is false under a cross-cutting change driver.

2 Design sets

Set Verdict
SOLID One heuristic is false (SRP), one vacuous (OCP), one a definition (LSP), one a corollary of another (ISP), one a placement directive with no criterion (DIP); the six packaging heuristics that complete the corpus are jointly unsatisfiable.
CUPID Fails the assessment requirement its author set. On the standards that define engineering it rests on no model or result and is not falsifiable, so it gives no basis for expecting improvement: practitioner advice, not engineering or science.
